Hyatt Regency Boston Takes Volunteer Initiative

Associates From Boston Hyatt Properties, Volunteer With Waltham Fields Community Farm, To Celebrate Hyatt’s Inaugural Global Volunteer Initiative

Volunteer Activity Coincides with Launch of Hyatt Thrive

BOSTON, MA - In recognition of the launch of Hyatt Thrive, a newly introduced

global corporate responsibility platform, Hyatts in Boston focused on supporting the community by engaging in a volunteer day with Waltham Fields Community Farm, Waltham, MA.

As part of a Hyatt global volunteer initiative, associates from Hyatt Harborside, Hyatt Regency Boston and Hyatt Regency Cambridge took part in the critical task of weeding recently transplanted seedlings, the bounty of which is destined for a number of food access programs across greater Boston.  This task is essential to allow seedlings to flourish and ensure there is no competition for water, nutrients, root space and sunshine.

Throughout the year this 11-acre farm offers educational youth programs, distributes free and low-cost produce to low income families and individuals in the area and provides a variety of ways for the larger community to learn about farms and local food through regular public events on the farm.  The Hyatt associates were proud to get their hands dirty to help this impactful non-profit organization.

This volunteer day was key tenet of Hyatt Thrive and part of Hyatt’s inaugural global volunteer initiative, which brings Hyatt associates from around the world together in a common effort to volunteer in the communities where they call home.

Hyatt Thrive empowers over 85,000 Hyatt associates at more than 450 properties around the world to help communities do one thing – Thrive – by focusing on four areas: environmental sustainability; economic development and investment; education and personal advancement; and health and wellness.

“We are dedicated to Boston, Cambridge and the surrounding communities and our associates are honored to be a part of Hyatt’s global volunteer initiative, working with Waltham Fields Community Farm,” said Stacey Nichols, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Cambridge.  “Hyatt Thrive is a natural extension of Hyatt’s mission, which is to provide authentic hospitality by making a difference in the lives of people we come in contact with every day.”

The volunteer work also coincides with a long-standing tradition of celebrating Hyatt associates around the world. Celebrating community and its people is a global demonstration of Hyatt’s dedication to thriving communities where associates live and work.
